With underground Rockflow water attenuation and infiltration systems, we quickly capture rainwater during cloudbursts. The dense fibre structure of stone wool filters runoff water, ensuring cleaner groundwater and surface water. And by returning the captured water to the ground through infiltration, the natural water cycle in the city is protected.

Rockflow acts as an underground sponge for rain:

Collect

Stormwater runoff from the surrounding area flows into the Rockflow system via a street gully or manhole. The stone wool acts like a large sponge retaining the water. This effectively prevents flooding during heavy rain.

Filter

Runoff rainwater often contains unwanted harmful substances from roofs, cars, and streets. Rockflow stone wool not only retains water but also has a purifying effect. Thus, suspended particles and chemical pollution are filtered out of the water.

The collected and cleaned water is slowly returned to the ground. There, the water is again available for surrounding trees and greenery. This is how Rockflow contributes to a natural water cycle in built-up areas.

Often, the available underground space for stormwater storage in urban areas is very limited. Thanks to the high load-bearing capacity and flexibility of Rockflow, space for rain is also made under tram tracks.

In sewer renovation projects or new constructions, a Rockflow water storage and infiltration system replaces the rainwater sewer. Rainwater is no longer transported but is directly infiltrated locally. The Rockflow system is often installed as linear infiltration next to the foul water sewer under the road.
